Natural Diet

I am cooking an all natural diet for my dog… where to get inexpensive supplies?
I am wondering if anyone has ever had any luck with a butcher giving you left over parts that nobody wants like organs?
My aussie had a mast-cell tumor that was surgically removed and I have opted to further treat her with a natural diet that I am making for her.
I wonder if grocery stores would give you expired meat from the meat department. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Go to any butcher’s in your area and ask them for scrap meats such as chicken necks, chicken backs, turkey legs, scrap beef.. whatever they got. You shouldn’t have trouble finding one to help you out, they usually like selling that stuff since it’s usually hard to get rid of. This stuff is usually cheap too, I get chicken necks from my butcher for only 50 cents/pound! And yes, you can usually get expired meats from the grocery store for cheaper prices. I realize the choice is up to you, but I HIGHLY recommend a RAW diet with raw meat and raw bones. When you cook food, it kills enzymes and good bacteria that are very good for your dog. You don’t need to worry about your getting sick from bacterium such as Salmonella or E. Coli, their digestive systems are well-equipped with very strong acids to fight these off. You can find a lot of good information about this type of diet on the internet by typing BARF diet for dogs into google. Also, look up Ian Billinghurst; he is an Australian vet that coined the BARF term (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food).
